Southwest Windpower Named a Clean Tech “Company to Watch”
Southwest Windpower, maker of the Skystream 3.7® backyard wind generator, has been named a wind power Company to Watch by authors of The Clean Tech Revolution
FLAGSTAFF, AZ – June 22, 2007 – Southwest Windpower, maker of small-scale residential wind turbines and the Skystream 3.7, has been named a Company to Watch by the authors of The Clean Tech Revolution. In their book, authors Ron Pernick and Clint Wilder identify ten companies in eight clean-technology industry sectors that bear watching for future growth and industry influence. Southwest Windpower was the only small-scale (under 10 kW) wind power company named in the chapter devoted to primarily to large-scale wind power.
“It’s been a great year for Southwest Windpower and for the small-scale wind industry as a whole,” says Southwest Windpower co-founder Andrew Kruse. “Our new Skystream 3.7 turbine has generated great response and the whole industry is growing like never before. We’re pleased to be recognized along-side companies serving the large-scale wind market.”
“Our Ten to Watch lists at the end of each chapter highlight companies playing a significant role in the growth and innovation of the clean-tech industry,” said Pernick, co-author of The Clean Tech Revolution and co-founder of Clean Edge, one of the industry’s premier research and publishing firms. “We looked at dozens of firms in each sector in the course of researching the book,” added Wilder, co-author of The Clean Tech Revolution and contributing editor of Clean Edge. “We chose ten companies, whether public or private, that are poised to make an impact.”
