Sustainability is rapidly becoming a key component for companies building their brand. A number of well-known brands, including PepsiCo and Wal-Mart, participate in the Sustainable Brands International (SBi) conference to discuss that very subject. The conference is the first of its kind dedicated entirely to exploring innovations in sustainable products and brands. It will be held in Miami Beach, Florida, from Dec. 9-11.
SBi is being organized by Sustainable Life Media, the producer of the Sustainable Brands ‘08 Conference. Besides marketers from PepsiCo, Wal-Mart and other big names, representatives from smaller companies known for their sustainability will also be present. According to a press release, there will be a heavy emphasis on comparing various international marketing strategies. There will also be discussions on "varying consumer sentiments, unfolding changes in regulatory environments and opportunities for environmentally and socially preferable supply chain partnerships across continents."
KoAnn Vikoren Skrzyniarz, Sustainable Life Media’s CEO, noted that many companies have taken a "wait and see" approach to sustainability during the current economic crunch. However, Vikoren Skrzyniarz said that sustainability is necessary for companies to continue growing.
Meet Me in St. Louis–for a modern energy training event
SNI is excited to host a renewable energy training event in St. Louis, Missouri June 25th to the 27th. The training will take place at the LEED Platinum certified Alberici World Headquarters. Attendees have the great opportunity to be trained in installing Schuco’s Solar Thermal Systems (June 25), and Southwest Windpower’s Skystream 3.7 wind turbine. David Sawchak, Dealer, Program Manager for Schuco emphasized: “The issue for renewable energy today is the hold up caused by the lack of properly trained installers. For companies like Schuco, Southwest Windpower, and SNI to team up to fill the void and conduct these trainings.
The word from a large environmental law firm in Albany confirms there’s a new sheriff in town. Clients who have seen 12 years of little to no enforcement pressure from DEC are getting concerned and calling their attorneys for advice. Good news for lawyers and even better news for the environment. Stay tuned.
