Wind turbine dedicated at Regional Agriculture office

The PA Department of Agriculture held a dedication of its Skystream Wind Turbine on Nov. 20.

Regional Director Ron Williams cut the green ribbon for the Wind Turbine installed on the Regional Office front lawn, bordering Rt. 92 South in Tunkhannock.

Trehab Energy Home Corporation, a division of Trehab installed the Wind Turbine, a part of a project to promote residential Wind Power. Williams explained that this is an effort to promote wind as a viable energy alterative in our area. It must be noted that proper citing is important and wind activities vary with the seasons. "This will be an important option for residents in our area," Williams continued.

William Wehry, Deputy Secretary of the Department of Agriculture and Consumer Protection, spoke of the importance and commitment to Renewable Energy that the State Department of Agriculture fully understands. Wehry presented a Certificate of Appreciation to Trehab for keeping Pennsylvania growing by providing farms with innovative means to generate alternative forms of energy.

Executive Director, Dennis Phelps thanked those attending for supporting Trehab's efforts to promote Renewable Energy. "This is only the beginning of our commitment to bring renewable energy opportunities to our area," Phelps stated.
