HOME > NEWS Intel, Southwest Windpower named Arizona manufacturers of the yearSharePhoenix Business Journal The Arizona Manufacturers Council this week named Intel Corp. its manufacturer of the year, and Southwest Windpower Inc. its outstanding small manufacturer. Santa Clara, Calif.-based Intel has major operations in Chandler. Southwest Windpower is based in Flagstaff. Both companies will be honored at a May 20 luncheon at the Scottsdale Plaza Resort. In addition, the council selected Arizona Senate President Tim Bee and Rep. John McComish as legislators of the year. "Sen. Bee's relentless efforts to enhance Arizona's research and development tax credit make him an obvious choice for Senator of the Year. Equally deserving is Representative of the Year John McComish, whose commitment to improving Arizona's workers' compensation system is exemplary," said Mark Dobbins, chairman of the council and vice chairman of the Arizona Chamber of Commerce & Industry. "These two legislative leaders are true champions of policies that make Arizona a better environment for manufacturers." |
