Homeowners can purchase small wind turbine equipment for their homes. They are a bit pricey, but will pay for themselves in a few years. I noticed that there are some government rebates and grants for wind powered homes as well.

The state-by-state link is very helpful for learning all about your state's guidelines concerning wind power, and where to find dealers for the generators.
