Bismarck State College (BSC) in Bismarck, N.D., and Montana-Dakota Utilities Co. have announced a plan to install a small wind turbine on the college campus for demonstration and educational purposes.
KXMC.com reports that a Skystream 3.7 small wind turbine will be used by students at the college's National Energy Center of Excellence (NECE) as part of their studies on wind energy. Montana-Dakota provided direct and in-kind contribution for the purchase and installation of the wind turbine. The $26,000 was funded by Montana-Dakota and the North Dakota Office of Renewable Energy & Energy Efficiency.
"The data from this demonstration site will help us assess the efficiency and benefits of small-scale projects, while BSC will have a wonderful learning opportunity for its students," says Dave Goodin, president and CEO of Montana-Dakota. |
