“Green” can take on many shapes and sizes — even colors. That was apparent this week at the Greenbuild International Conference and Expo in downtown Phoenix, where about 1,800 companies had their products and services on display.
Some products earned the green descriptor because of the materials from which they are made, others because they help cut down on energy use.
Regardless of the specifics, all the vendors present at Greenbuild are selling a sustainable lifestyle, said David Monteith, owner (sic) of Flagstaff-based Southwest Windpower, which produces wind-powered generators for personal use.
“Our goal is to provide energy independence — it's not to sell windmills,” he said.
